I personally don’t find her book like a “manual”. It takes you to the? place of the obsessive, self-conscious addiction that is an eating disorder, but doesn’t drown in it. It is a recovery book to me because it makes it clear that this is not how you want to live your life. It makes me want to say goodbye to the lifelong friend/enemy that is an eating disorder.

the second? girl that asked a question was a giant!!!

@lucy121x yes I have read it – more than once – hence my comment that it is like a manual. The? way she calculates her intake, using one bowl, exercising, etc. It does show the dangers but if you have an ED, you don’t care what the future holds as long as it is being thinner.

I love that metaphor, “You can’t fit a size 8 foot? into a size 6 shoe.”

@mrsrobinsoncat yeh but the whole way through it tells you how awful it is and how it never works or lasts and you dont get what you want for it so it does help, have you even read the book?? why wouldnt she have an american accent shes lived in america around half of her life and is surrounded by american people daily

  12. mrsrobinsoncat says:

I would also like to add that young girls should not read this book because it is a manual = it tells? you what to do. It is pure thinspo.

  13. mrsrobinsoncat says:

    A) why is Portia speaking with an American acent? It is just wrong.
    B) is it just me or does the first question girl (who sounds like Kermit) look like she is the one with an eating disorder.
    C) why can’t I have? someone to love me the way Ellen obviously loves Portia? Or is that impossible cos I am straight?

  14. Chakram says:

    Portia: “I don’t think that I’m perfect? at all…”
    Ellen: “I do!”

    Awwww…

@imowtflol for your info bitch, my fat may be your very thin fool. You hide your identity to insult people. first you are? a coward. second you are a fool, unloved and discarded and thirdly that is why no one will ever really love you ho! Last and the greatest, you are the ugliest looking, fattest jelly walking amoeba that ever existed. If you disagree, look again in the mirror…FOOL!

Thank you so much for posting this video! You make all of us learn something with this video, and the quoted sentence by Portia de Rossi and video? description.
She really had a courageous battle with weight (but in fact it’s not really a weight issue since she’s been thin all along; it’s the way people perceive their bodies) and most importantly her issue with self-worth.
